MAY 25, 2019: A FUBAR COUNTRY IN A SNAFU WORLD

This post is written in English. It is a way of thanking the foreign followers of this blog through the years. Believe it or not, they are disproportionately many given  the local character of this humble  blog.
For the sake of keeping a high standard of propriety I will not explain in detail the terms FUBAR and SNAFU. Suffice it to say that they are acronyms born in the horrible battlefields of WWII. It is difficult to put their meaning in black and white precisely. They are words coming from deep inside the souls of Marines and GI's, combining raw cynicism at the annihilation of everything that makes us humans, irony at the breakdown of command plans in the battlefield, the substitution of valor and skill of high ranking officers in the line by politics within the miltary hierarchy, despair at the day to day mental and physical trauma, but also a sense of bravado, heroism and a deep faith in final victory in the face of unspeakable man made pain and horror.
In a gross approximation, FUBAR means that reality has been mauled and raped beyond recognition and SNAFU, that  this state of affairs is the new norm.
Both hold true for Greece.
Starting in the beginning of the post-dictatorship era, everything that was familiar, everything that was a constant  around which we built our lives, every moral value, economic landmark, national characrteristic, religious tenet, has been mauled and raped beyond recognition.
Most of the mauling and raping has been taking place since 2010 when the country was put willy-nilly on "artificial support" that turned out to be a repeat of the German occupation, in the name of "European solidarity".
Let me make one thing clear. It was not dark foreign forces that brought on the monumental disaster that followed. We are; either as perpetrators of crimes against the nation, or as bystanders who never protested seriously the systematic undoing of our identity and dignity.
Foreigners just made the best of the situation to their advantage and the Germans in particular engaged in their favorite game of administering punishment to anyone that doesn't agree with them while profiting from our misery and gaining control of our land, infrastructure  and resources. In other words they created an open stallag and we are the Jews, Slavs, Gypsies and other "degenerates" of days we thought were gone forever.
Of the foreigners the most malignant are the globalists and their local minions from the whole political and social spectrum that we feed with our taxes in the form of financing the function of NGO's.
If you read this blog, you obviously take notice of what is going on in the world to a great depth; so it is not necessary for me to fill in the details of how this country and its people were treated by the international community, the bankers, the EU apparatchiks etc. None of the decisions of the EU that was bringing down the Greek Nation in a synchronized series of explosions smashing one pillar after another of its livelihood, dignity, culture, religion, language, values were voted on.
I bring this fact up just to keep some perspective on the meaning of democracy in this here Union.
The only decision of the Greek people that was made democratically in a referendum in 2015 was quickly overturned and the nefarious SYRIZA  politburo left poor Varoufakis and the rest of us hanging out to dry in our debtors prison, without ever getting a chance to commute our sentence or be granted a parole board hearing.
The decision was that enough was enough and we were ready to bite the bullet and exit the Eurozone, the euro etc no matter what the consequences. It never happened.
What is important is the state of the country today, as we are heading for yet another EU election to select representatives that are impotent.
So, what's the situation today? We will start a top down list.

1. Turkey is the number one threat right now. It has been and still is an existential threat to us.
You see, while Turkey was going about the business of developing its capabilities in nearly evey sector that I can think of within a traditional social framework, with autocratic but capable leadership we were going about the business of having a good time, neglecting the armed forces, skipping military service whenever and however possible and indulging ourselves with borrowed money and  tax evasion, when not stealing directly from the public chest, leaving a minority of idiots, "plants" in the local slang, to shoulder the burden of keeping the country together. The few honest citizens that manned the ramparts and sounded alarms in public life were characterized as "backward" at best and "fascists" at worst and were squashed and silenced promptly either visibly as in the case of the victims of the terrorist organization "17 November" or quietly, through the multifaceted and ever-present mechanism of PASOK, always in the name of democracy and socialist ideals.
The horrendous history of the Right in this country made their work easy since there was a great reluctance for anyone to idenitfy with the Right openly. It took almost a decade for conservative New Democracy to win an election after the departure of Konstantine Karamanlis the elder.
When they did, they followed the same policy of smug self-confidence publicly combined with a defeatist policy at the negotiation table. Membership in the EU was advertised as the panacea that would make the Turkish disease go away. Well, we found out how good that membership was for us and I have no doubts about how supportive they are going to be in the coming conflict.
So, now we are faced with yet another conflict and we are neither prepared nor capable of dealing with it. Turkey demands redrawing of the borders so that it can gain access to the hydrocarbons  below the seabed of the Aegean and the Mediterranean. A secondary goal is to extend its territory at the expense of Greece and Cyprus initially and God knows at the expense of who else, after positioning itself to negotiate expansion in Syria and Iraq and engaging in a complicated .dance between  East and West, NATO and the Eurasian Alliance etc. I wouldn't be surprised if the powers that be have already agreed to such an  expansion at our expense to bring back Turkey to the Western fold. The outsider would think that the focus of the debate in the coming election would center around this issue.
It would be wrong. It is anything but. The political forces that raise the issue are the Eurosceptics and beyond.

2. Islamic invasion labelled as "immigration" and "refugees".

We are a small nation with a compact homogeneous population  with a stable cultural and religious framework for centuries, through good times and bad times, through war and peace, through triumph and defeat. Although genetic studies show our continuity since ancient times with some admixture with the Slavs and Albanians but almost none with the Turks and Africans , this scientific fact is denied by the deconstructionist historians and political scientists and their erroneous views pass as "progressive". This is done in an effort to present the violent, uncontrolled and unauthorized invasion of the country by immigrants from Islamic countries as something natural that we should accept with no objections since ourselves are not really Greeks but a hodgepodge of nations and therefore cannot claim sovereignty . Putting aside the fallacy of this premise on genetic grounds, since study after study demonstrate a unique Greek genetic signture in our part of the world along with the Jews, we are proud of our heritage and we want to run this corner of the earth the way we see fit as a sovereign nation.
Of course we recognise the same right for every other nation in the world but we oppose the idea of creating a homogeneous soup of nations with no distinguishable identities and civilizations.
We have been at war with Islam since its inception and suffered the consequences of defeat with a four hundred year span of slavery to the Ottomans that has left  permanent scars on the Greek soul.
When we joined  the  EU we wellcomed of course the relaxation of barriers on the movement of people goods and capital within the Union.
We never thought and were never asked if we agreed to become the dump of unspeakable human misery through unchecked migration from every Islamic country in the region and further out such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Northern Africa, Western Africa and so on and so forth.
Because of our small numbers and  demographic deterioration we are at risk of losing control of the country within a generation or two. It will never happen.
All this is done because of the ongoing rivalry between the West and China on one hand and the purposeful demolition of sovereign nations within the EU, with the exception of the Germans, French and the British who guard jealously the national character of their states, while using the so called immigrants to the benefit of their economies.
In an ironic  twist of history the interests of the capitalist globalists and the internationalists of the communist Left coincide on this issue. On one hand in order to transfer the productive base back to the West a cheap labor force antagonistic to the Chinese is necessary, favoring the dumping of unfortunate fellow people on Europe and on the other, after years of poor performance at the polls the Left sees an opportunity for gains and propagation of their ideology by appealing to these unfortunates, while at the same time attacking the cultural, religious and social base of the middle class of the country in the name of universal socialism.
Hence the partnership between SYRIZA and Soros.
To add insult to injury to those of us that disagree with this travesty we are labelled "racist"  and "xenophobic" in a delirious distortion of the meaning of the spoken and written discourse when all we want is control of our fate in our own country. Of course no mention is made of the fact that in spite and over our objections to official policy it is us who take care of the sick immigrants in the hospitals, and offer all kinds of support motivated by the values of the Greek civilization that both groups are trying to destroy.
A natural consequence is that militant Islamist  operatives and combatants  have infiltrated the ranks of the migrants and law enforcement agencies are either truly or seem to be incapable to locate and apprehend them. The result is the terrorist activity with large numbers of victims in France, Germany, Belgium and elsewhere when they move north.
The mainstream Right is not free of blame on this issue. Initially, they favored relaxation of immigration rules for the purpose of reaping the profits of cheap labor, especially in construction housekeeping, nursing care of the elderly and agriculture,  with the argument that there were not enough Greeks willing to perform the kinds of jobs the immigrants are doing because of upward social mobility in the young and women. This is a fallacy because "upward mobility" was based on borrowed money and government handouts and had the forces of the market been allowed to fucntion properly a lot of the "upward moving" would have lifted their sleeves and toiled in the fields and factories in order to survive instead of loitering in cafeterias.
Now the situation is out of control, with ghettos of Chinese and Muslims in the center of Athens largely inaccesible to us, where crime, prostitution and drugs have turned a once peaceful and beautiful city into a cesspool.
Again only the Eurosceptics are addressing this issue like it is and have a plan to do something about it.

The economy.

Last summer SYRIZA announced in a great hoopla that the era of  EU straight-jacket with a noose atttached, was over.  It isn't. The Eurogroup still decides how much food we are going to put on the table.
If the post-dictatorship governments and attitudes of the people are responsible for our default as a nation, SYRIZA is responsible for prolonging our path to recovery with the about-face of 1915 that cost an arm and a leg and the subsequent systematic killing of the middle class and the producers of wealth in Greece.
The reason is ideology which makes it even worse. We the wealth producers are an enemy of the proletariat and therefore must be wiped out from the face of the earth.
Two years after retirement I am still on a waiting list to get what I paid to the system many times over, I am brutally taxed because I am now in the private sector, and my hard earned money goes to addicts, untalented artists that can't cut it, gypsies and of course to NGO's and the luben clientele of SYRIZA.
Young people with the necessary education and qualifications to make a difference are long gone.
Unemployment and ridiculous wages as a result of European policies on one hand and on the other the class war declared against them by the likes of Takalotos, Filis and Polakis drive them out in droves.
Money continues to be tight, investments are not happening because investors are not demented to the point of putting their money in a country run by an army of parasites like the public services bureaucracy, an arbitrary moving sand taxation system and of course under terms that are equivalent to confiscation of their investment. The only foreigners investing in the country are Chinese and Russian shady characters who want to obtain an EU passport.
If this looks like an improvement to you, allow me to have a different opinion.
Again, only the eurosceptics have a clear grasp and solutions appealing to the battered middle class.
The neoliberal New Democracy economic program will be the final blow to a near dead nation.

I could go on, and maybe  I will, depending on how this article is received.
Is the world at large any better?  I don't think so. It is the SNAFU part of the equation.

More to follow
